China is ready to join hands with Ethiopia to further develop military ties between the two countries in the new century, Chinese Defense Minister Chi Haotian said Thursday in Beijing.

Chi, also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China and a state councilor, made the remarks while meeting with Abadula Gemeda, minister of defense of Ethiopia.
