Three days of dense fog have disrupted normal flight control at Xianyang Airport in this capital of northwest China's
Shanxi
Province.
Travel has been curtailed since Nov. 20. The airport has to suspend service whenever it is shrouded in heavy fogs, and flightsare permitted to take off or land only at midday when visibility in the locality exceeded 500 meters, according to airport authorities.
Related sources noted that stranded passengers have been accommodated properly.
The foggy weather is likely to last about another week, said local weather forecast.
