Endangered Animal Rescue Center Erected in South China

An endangered animal rescue centerwas established Friday in Chaozhou City of Guangdong Province.

An endangered animal rescue centerwas established Friday in Chaozhou City of Guangdong Province.

The center will take in wild animals seized in accordance with state protection laws, and provide medical attention, food and protection until further handover instructions are received from the local superior department in charge of wild animal protection.

The center will also serve as a major education center to raisepublic awareness with regard to the protection of endangered wild animals.

Situated in the eastern part of Guangdong, the city boasts nearly 600 kinds of terrestrial vertebrates. Of these, more than 130 are under state protection.
