Indonesian, Kenyan Presidents Congratulate China's Hu

Indonesian President Megawati Soekarnoputri and Kenyan President Daniel Arap Moi, among other political leaders, have congratulated China's Hu Jintao on his election as general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Indonesian President Megawati Soekarnoputri and Kenyan President Daniel Arap Moi, among other political leaders, have congratulated China's Hu Jintao on his election as general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Megawati, in her message, expressed the hope that the already good relations between the two countries could be further strengthened and economic cooperation could be expanded.

Moi said Kenya and China have a long history of a close relationship. He expected to work with Hu to promote the current friendly and cooperative relations between two peoples and two countries.

Government and political party leaders of Vanuatu, Morocco, Mexico, Colombia, France, Benin, Peru and Belarus also sent their congratulatory messages to Hu on his election.
