Dell Unveils Low-End Computer for Small Businesses

World leading computer maker Dell Computer Corp. on Tuesday unveiled a low-end network optimized desktop computer aimed at small businesses and consumers with prices starting at 419 US dollars.

orld leading computer maker Dell Computer Corp. on Tuesday unveiled a low-end network optimized desktop computer aimed at small businesses and consumers with prices starting at 419 US dollars.

The Dimension 2350 desktop computer comes with a choice of Intel 's 1.7 GHz to 2.0 GHz Celeron chips or 1.8GHz and 2.0GHz Pentium 4 processors, combined with Intel's 845GL chipset, two 5.25-inch bays for optical drives and six USB 2.0 ports.

A Dimension 2350, with an Intel Celeron chip running at 2.0 GHz,128 DDR ram, 30 GB hard drive, a CD-ROM drive, integrated Audio, Intel Extreme 3D Graphics, 10/100 Ethernet connectivity, and Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, is priced at 419 dollars without a monitor.

A Dimension 2350 with a 15 inch flat panel display, 1.8GHz Celeron chip, 128 DDR ram, 30 GB hard drive, a CD-ROM drive, integrated Audio, Intel Extreme 3D Graphics, 10/100 Ethernet connectivity, and Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, will cost only 699 dollars after a 100-dollar rebate.

Industrial analysts here believe that Dell's low-end Dimension 2350 computer could lead to a price war in the coming holiday shopping season, as most computer makers have pinned their hope on the year's last chance to boost their flat sales.
