Chinese Foreign Minister Meets Spanish Prime Minister

Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan has held separate talks with Spanish King Juan Carlos and Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar.

Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan has held separate talks with Spanish King Juan Carlos and Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar.

When meeting with the Spanish King, Tang Jiaxuan praised the Asia-Pacific strategic plan mapped out by the Spanish government. He said China will make joint efforts with Spain to push forward the development of bilateral relations to benefit the two peoples.

The King said Spanish entrepreneurs welcome the expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries, and his country hopes bilateral relations will become closer.

Tang Jianxuan told Aznar that China will expand economic cooperation with Spain, promote exchanges in culture, education and tourism as well as various other fields. He says China also seeks to strengthen consultation and cooperation with Spain in the UN and other international organizations.
