Defense Minister: Chinese Military Willing to Contribute to World Peace

The Chinese military is willing to cooperate with foreign forces toward the achievement of world peace and the establishment of a fair economic and political order in the international community, China's Defense Minister said Thursday in Beijing.

The Chinese military is willing to cooperate with foreign forces toward the achievement of world peace and the establishment of a fair economic and political order in the international community, China's Defense Minister said Thursday in Beijing.

Chi Haotian, also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, made the remarks at a seminar on international issues sponsored by the University of National Defense, saying the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) opposesany kind of hegemony and terrorism.

Chi said the seminar, attended by 46 military officers from 32 countries, will enhance ties and cooperation between the Chinese army and its foreign counterparts.
