Liaoning Province Registers Double-digit Export Growth

Liaoning Province, an important heavy industrial base in northeast China, did 17.3 billion US dollars in foreign trade in the first ten months of the year.

Liaoning Province, an important heavy industrial base in northeast China, did 17.3 billion US dollars in foreign trade in the first ten months of the year.

Of the total, exports accounted for 9.67 billion US dollars, up11.3 percent from the same period last year, said sources from theprovincial bureau of foreign trade and economic cooperation.

According to a local foreign trade official, key exports include machinery-electronic products, high-tech commodities, as well as other bulk commodities such as frozen chicken, aquatic products, disposable chopsticks, textiles, garments, rolled steel,footwear and iron compounds.

The official predicted an 8 percent increase in this year's exports, which are expected to top 12 billion US dollars.
