Chinese Premier Meets Ambassadors

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji met Tuesday with outgoing and incoming ambassadors from 21 countries and one international organization.

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji met Tuesday with outgoing and incoming ambassadors from 21 countries and one international organization.

Zhu expressed his appreciation for the departing ambassadors' efforts in promoting bilateral relations and cooperation between China and their countries.

He also welcomed the new ambassadors, saying he hoped that theywould help promote friendship and cooperation between China and their countries.

Zhu said the Chinese government would assist their work in China.

The outcoming ambassadors are Bui Hong Phuc from Vietnam, Olafur Egilsson from Iceland, Matthew K. M'Ithiri from Kenya, Rajeshwar Acharya from Nepal and Mohamed A. El Saket from the League of Arab States.

The incoming ambassadors are Bokhadyr Najmidinovich Abdoullaev from Tajikistan, Borislav Maric from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iftikharul Karim from Bangladesh, Petros Kestoras from Cyprus, Kgosi Seepapitso IV from Botswana, Marc Ungeheuer from Luxembourg,Charalambos Rocanas from Greece, Yehoyada Haim from Israel, GastonVan Duyse-Adam from Belgium, Yashar Tofigi Aliyev from Azerbaijan,Antonio Nunes de Carvalho Santana Carlos from Portugal, Qiamuddin Rai Barlas from Afghanistan, Borje Ljunggren from Sweden, Viorel Isticioaia from Romania, Abdul-Rahim from Palestine, Abdul Hamid from Brunei and Abd Hamid bin Haji Jalil Victor Sikonina from Madagascar.
