Road Accident in Ethiopia Kills 25, Injures 17

A total of 25 people died and 17 others sustained injuries when a public bus with 42 passengers on board overturned Tuesday at a place called "Adikayih" in Tigray,northern state of the country, the Ethiopian News Agency reported from Addis Ababa.

A total of 25 people died and 17 others sustained injuries when a public bus with 42 passengers on board overturned Tuesday at a place called "Adikayih" in Tigray,northern state of the country, the Ethiopian News Agency reported form Addis Ababa.

The agency quoted the state traffic police as saying that the accident occurred after the vehicle, heading from Mekele town to Addis Ababa, skidded off the road and plunged into a ravine.

The driver of the bus was among the deceased, and the victims were receiving medical treatment in local hospitals.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.
