CPC Central Committee, State Council Congratulate Successful Bid for World Expo

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the State Council on Tuesday sent a joint congratulatory message to the Chinese delegation that won the bid for Shanghai to host the World Exposition 2010.

The message said the win for Shanghai, a window for China's opening up and modernization drive, to host the event is the result of the full support rendered by the people throughout China,and also the result of China's increasing overall national strength, improved international status and further development offriendly relations with all the countries in the world.

The World Exposition Shanghai 2010 would inject fresh vitality into China's economic and social development and make greater contribution to the peace and progress of mankind, it said.

The World Exposition Shanghai 2010 would be a most successful and splendid one, it added.
