Chinese, Foreign Business People Celebrate China's Successful World Expo Bid

About 300 delegates from Chinese companies and chambers of commerce as well as from foreign business offices in China gathered Wednesday in Beijing to hail China's successful bid to host the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai.

About 300 delegates from Chinese companies and chambers of commerce as well as from foreign business offices in China gathered Wednesday in Beijing to hail China's successful bid to host the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai.

The celebration was held by the China Council for the Promotionof International Trade (CCPIT), which has attended every World Expos since 1982 and played a significant role in China's bid work.

CCPIT Vice President Wan Jifei said China's successful bid shows the world's affirmation of China's achievement in reform andopening-up. China will keep its promises and make every effort to host the most successful World Expo in history, he said, stressingthe great business opportunities it will bring for foreign enterprises.
