The Houston Rockets posted the sixth consecutive home victory as they beat Philadelphia 76ers 97-72 on Saturday.

Steve Francis had 20 points for the hosts as Chinese Yao Ming, the No. 1 draft pick, added 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Cuttino Mobley had 16 points and Kenny Thomas 14 while Keith Van Horn scored 15 points for Philadelphia and Allen Iverson added11 points on 5-of-19 shooting from the floor.

In New Jersey, Jason Kidd had 15 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds to inspire the Nets to a crushing 121-88 win over the Orlando Magic to end the visitors' two-game winning streak.

In Oakland, Dirk Nowitzki had 35 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks to the win over the Golden State Warriors 121-116.

In Atlanta, Glenn Robinson and Shareef Abdur-Rahim both scored 23 points as the Hawks edged the Detroit Pistons 94-92.

In Los Angeles, Elton Brand had 26 points and 17 rebounds as the Clippers sank the Minnesota Timber wolves 104-88.

In Washington, Larry Hughes scored 22 points and had 10 rebounds to give the Wizards a 100-97 win over the New York Knicks.

In Chicago, Jalen Rose scored 27 points and Donyell Marshall added 22 as the Bulls won the battle of the two worst teams in the Eastern Conference with a 112-104 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, who lost 16 of their last 17 games.

In Milwaukee, Jamal Mashburn had 23 points as the New Orleans Hornets handed the Bucks the third successive loss 94-88.

In Denver, Chris Whitney collected 23 points as the Nuggets, snapping a five-game losing run, upset the Indiana Pacers 92-81.

In Seattle, Vladimir Radmanovic had 19 points off the bench and Gary Payton added 18 to give the Super Sonics a 100-71 win over the Miami Heat.
