Chinese Vice FM Visits Djibouti

Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh Sunday met Chinese vice Foreign Minister Qiao Zonghuai in the capital city of Djibouti on bilateral relations, reports reaching in Addis Ababa from Djibouti said.

Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh Sunday met Chinese vice Foreign Minister Qiao Zonghuai in the capital city of Djibouti on bilateral relations, reports reaching in Addis Ababa from Djibouti said.

Qiao said that since the two countries established diplomatic relations, their ties have been steadily and healthily developed. President Guelleh's visit to China last year has ushered their relations to a new stage, he added.

He expressed his gratefulness for Djibouti's consistent supportto China on the Taiwan issue and other international affairs.

Qiao, who arrived in Djibouti on Friday at the invitation of the Djibouti foreign ministry, also said that China attaches greatimportance to relations with Djibouti and hopes to work together with Djibouti to further develop such relationship.

Guelleh congratulated China on the successful convocation of the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

Guelleh stressed that Djibouti will stick to the one-China policy, and closely exchange views with and cooperate with China on international affairs.

During his visit, Qiao also held talks with Djibouti Prime Minister Dileita Mohamed Dileita and Foreign Minister Ali Abdi Farah.
