Israeli bulldozers started on Tuesday to build a 100-meter road which links Kiriat Arba' Jewish settlement and the Ibrahimi holly mosque in the city of Hebron, Palestinian officials said.

"This road will be built up on Palestinian properties. We condemn the Israeli action and we considered it as a challenge to the Israeli High Court decision and against the international law,"Mustafa Natsheh, mayor of Hebron said.

He said while Israeli bulldozers build up the road, the Israeli soldiers continue their aggression against the Palestinian residents, adding that a tightened curfew is still imposed on the city.

The Reconstruction Committee of the Old City in Hebron confirmedthat the Israeli army intends to demolish archaeological buildings and locations related to ancient ages.

Meanwhile, Mayor of Bethlehem Hana Nasser said that preventing Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat from attending the Christmas midnight mass is a nonsense decision and a kind of collective punishment imposed on the holy town.
