South Korean warships intruded into the western territorial waters of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), a military provocation similar to the one in November, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Wednesday.

On Wednesday local time 9 a.m.(2400 GMT), two South Korean warships, with five fishing boats, made inroads into DPRK's territorial waters south of Tongam Ri, Kangryong County, South Hwanghae Province, and lingered there, followed by an escort ship's intrusion between 1222 p.m.(0322 GMT) and 1257 p.m.(0357 GMT), the KCNA report said.

It was another well-designed and intentional incursion into the DPRK's western territorial waters, following a similar one in November, aimed to provoke more clashes, the report said.

South Korea should realize such provocative actions could bring "irreversible consequences" to the inter-Korean dialogue and cooperation, and therefore should behave more prudently, it warned.
