Chinese Surpass Two World Records at IPC Swimming Championships

Two world recordswere improved on Wednesday by Chinese swimmers as they collected four more golds on the second day competition at the IPC Swimming World Championships in Mar Del Plata, Argentina.

Two world recordswere improved on Wednesday by Chinese swimmers as they collected four more golds on the second day competition at the IPC Swimming World Championships in Mar Del Plata, Argentina.

Wang Xiaofu, who won the men's S8 100-meter freestyle in 58.89 seconds after breaking his own world record Tuesday, claimed his second title by surpassing the old world mark in S8 100-meter butterfly with one minute 6.88 seconds.

In women's competition, Zhu Hongyan clocked a winning time of 1:09.51 in S11-S12 100-meter backstroke to beat the S12 world record.

In addition, Huang Min triumphed in women's S8 100-meter butterfly in 1:22.35 while Yin Jianhua charged to victory in men'sS6 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:08.86.

The Third International Paralympic Committee Swimming World Championship, attracting over 1,000 swimmers from 55 countries andregions, is a two-phase competition including fourteen categories.

The elimination phase of the event will be held between Dec. 10to 15 and the finals are to be carried out on Dec. 16.

In addition, the First IPC Open Sea World Championships will follow close at heel on Dec. 17 at Playa de Las Tocas beach.
