Foreign Languages Press Celebrates 50th Anniversary

The Foreign Languages Press holds an exhibition of its publications from Dec. 17 to 20 in commemoration of its 50th founding anniversary.

The Foreign Languages Press holds an exhibition of its publications from Dec. 17 to 20 in commemoration of its 50th founding anniversary.

Up to 1,200 books in more than 40 languages on display, have been selected from among the 20,000 books published since 1952 and cover politics, economics, law, literature and art, Chinese language studies, foreign language studies and children's readings.

There will be special exhibitions for Chinese central government news and publications departments and for cultural attaches of foreign embassies residing in China.

At the opening ceremony on Tuesday afternoon, Zhao Changqian, deputy director general of the China Foreign Languages Publication and Distribution Administration, said that the Foreign Languages Press has effectively promoted China to the world for the past five decades through its publication of numerous books on China's economics, politics, historical culture and social development.

The Foreign Languages Press, of the leading components of the renowned China Foreign Languages Publication and Distribution Administration, is a comprehensive, international publishing house, specializing in editing, translating and publishing foreign language books for readership worldwide.

In addition, the press publishes some foreign language books and readings for students in China.
