Vietnam, China to Strengthen Sports Cooperation

Vietnam hopes to cooperate with China in athletes' training and share experiences in organizing major sports events, said Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem while holding talks here with visiting Chinese top sports official Yuan Weimin.

Vietnam hopes to cooperate with China in athletes' training and share experiences in organizing major sports events, said Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem while holding talks here with visiting Chinese top sports official Yuan Weimin.

Khiem praised the close cooperation between the Sports Committee of Vietnam and the Sports General Administration of China during the recent past and informed his Chinese guests aboutVietnam's preparations for the 2003 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 22).

Yuan, the general director of China's State Sport Administration, briefed Khiem on China's preparations for 2008 Olympics and said he hoped that Vietnam would successfully organize 2003 SEA Games.

"China is ready to share its experiences in organizing major sport events with Vietnam and help the country train sportsmen," Yuan said.
