Drop in Factory Prices for China's Industrial Goods Eases

The decline of factory prices for China's industrial products continued to slow, with a drop of 0.4 percent in November from a year ago, according to National Bureau of Statistics figures released Thursday.

The decline of factory prices for China's industrial products continued to slow, with a drop of 0.4 percent in November from a year ago, according to National Bureau of Statistics figures released Thursday.

The factory prices of capital goods stopped falling and stayed the same as at November last year. Consumer goods dropped 2.0 percent, according to NBS figures.

Average factory prices of industrial products for January-November were 2.5 percent lower than in the same period last year,the NBS said.

Nevertheless, the factory price of coal continued to rise in November, up 7.9 percent over one year ago. Rising prices for crude oil on the international market also resulted in a sharp hike in prices for crude oil in China, a rise of 8.5 percent in November over the same month last year.
