Macao SAR Moving Forward: Chief Executive

After experiencing different challenges and tests over the past three years, the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) is moving forward towards a clear goal, Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah said Friday in Macao.

In a grand reception held by the SAR government to mark the 3rd birthday of the Macao SAR, the chief executive vowed to stick to a"pragmatic" attitude to strive for Macao's future.

Local residents and social groups have provided efficient assistance and support for the government work, he said.

The Macao people held the spirit of loving both the motherland and Macao, further abided by the Basic Law and the principle of "One Country, Two Systems", did well in Macao's inner affairs and safeguarded social harmony and stability in the past three years, the official noted.

Under the prerequisite of "One Country, Two Systems", the central government and people of the motherland offered "immeasurable" support for the SAR, both providing a helping hand to meet Macao's near-term demand and showing great concerns for the SAR's development in the long run, said Edmund Ho.

Work of the SAR government has improved slightly, but the public servants of different ranks should work even harder in the coming year to make more achievements, he noted.
