Chinese Dominate Women's Doubles in China Open Badminton

Chinese female shuttlers demonstrated their depth of talents in the doubles eventas they swept all semifinals places in the China Open badminton championships Friday in Guangzhou, capitol of south China's Guangdong Province.

Chinese female shuttlers demonstrated their depth of talents in the doubles eventas they swept all semifinals places in the China Open badminton championships Friday in Guangzhou, capitol of south China's Guangdong Province.

Top seed Gao Ling/Huang Sui breezed through Japan's Chikako Nakayama/Keiko Yoshitomi 11-6, 11-1 to set up a semifinal duel with Chen Lin/Jiang Xuelian on Saturday after the latters upset fellow Chinese Zhang Dan/Zhang Yawen 11-7, 11-7.

Yu Yang/Liu Qiuming, who reached the main draw through two rounds of preliminaries, beat another Japanese pair Shizuka Yamamoto/Seiko Yamada 11-3, 11-2.

Zhao Tingting/Wei Yili, who saw off third-seed Mia Audina Tjiptawan/Lotte Jonathans of the Netherlands 13-12, 11-3, face Yu/Liu on Saturday.
