Zambia Arrests Foreigners for Violating Immigration Permits

Zambia's Immigration Department Public Relations Officer, Ibvuta Lungu said Monday that scores of foreigners have been violating immigration permits and have been arrested.

Zambia's Immigration Department Public Relations Officer, Ibvuta Lungu said Monday that scores of foreigners have been violating immigration permits and have been arrested.

Lungu said about 50 foreigners with various immigration permitswere arrested last week.

He pointed out that 21 foreigners were arrested two days ago inLusaka while nine were apprehended on the Copperbelt province .

During Christmas holidays, 19 foreigners were arrested on the main road between Kabwe, capital of Central province, and Kapiri Mposhi, a railway hub on the Copperbelt.

He warned foreigners holding various immigration permits to observe terms and conditions stipulated on the documents to avoid revocation of such permits.
