Chinese young star Qu Bo, who had English premier league dream shattered earlier this season, has attracted attention of Dutch first division club Heerenveen, the Sports Weekly said in Beijing on Thursday.

Qu, 21, won the heart of Tottenham Hotspur manager Glenn Hoddlein a fortnight trial last summer. But he failed to wear the north London club's shirt after being denied a work permit by the British Home Office because he had not played enough games for China.

But reports said that Heerenveen have expressed their interest to sign the Chinese striker, although they have not "taken any actions."

The newspaper said that Qu's pace and versatility has caught the eyes of Heerenveen chairman last week, who watched Qu play in an international friendly between China and Catalan regional selection in Nou Camp.

It was reported that Heerenveen has long been interested in Chinese players. Midfielder Li Tie, now in English premier league side Everton, was their prime aim in 2000 but they failed to sign him for unknown reasons.
