Hong Kong Win Asia's Last World Junior Rugby Championships Entry
Hosts Hong Kong picked up last ticket on Friday to the world junior rugby championships to be held in Paris in April.

picked up last ticket on Friday to the world junior rugby championships to be held in Paris in April.
Hong Kong qualified for the International Rugby Board (IRB) after finishing second in Group B of the Asian Under-19 Rugby Championship which has been going on since Saturday.
A total of 10 teams from
Japan
, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, China, Hong Kong of China,
Sri Lanka
,
Kazakhstan
,
Singapore
,
Malaysia
, and
Thailand
have joined the nine-day tournament.
Japan, South Korea and Chinese Taipei had been awarded spots inthe World Championships in Paris by the IRB before the Asian junior championship started and the other seven participants had to compete for the last chance given to Asia by the IRB for the first time.
The best finished team except Japan, South Korea and Chinese Taipei at this tournament are entitled to be qualifying for the Asia's last place at the world championship. Since Hong Kong was considered the best finished team as it was the only team reachingthe top four in addition to Japan, South Korea and Chinese Taipei.
In a format of round robin, the ten squads competed on January 4-10 with top teams Japan and South Korea from each group moving into final on Sunday. The second finishers in each group, Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong of China, will fight for the third and fourthplace on the same date.
