A 60-year-old tricyclist urging Chinese people to remember the atrocities Japanese invaders committed in China, arrived in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province Tuesday.

Fu Erliang, from Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, is on his third solo tricycle tour since 2000.

The retiree from the Harbin Aircraft Manufacturing Co, whose maternal grandfather was killed by the Japanese during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937-1945) said he hoped young people would not forget the time when China was occupied by Japan.

Fu said he wanted to show his support for compensation claims from those who suffered during the Japanese occupation.

Japanese governments had always ignored the truth and neglectedtheir country's crimes, Fu said.

Each year Fu starts his tour on August 31 and usually covers thousands of kilometers across more than 20 provinces. He reached Shenzhen and Zhuhai, two cities in south China's Guangdong Province, on his two previous trips and his third destination is Hainan, an island province in the South China Sea.

Fu posted some banners on his tricycle shed and he will also give lectures in local schools.
