Chinese Vice Premier Meets Malaysian Supreme Head of State

Chinese Vice Premier Li Lanqing met with Malaysia's Supreme Head of State Sultan Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail in Kuala Lumpur Monday evening.

Chinese Vice Premier Li Lanqing met with Malaysia's Supreme Head of State Sultan Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail in Kuala Lumpur Monday evening.

Li said he is deeply impressed with the visit to Malaysia and satisfied with the results achieved during the trip.

He said he had extensive discussions with Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on expanding Sino-Malaysian cooperation in all fields. Li also discussed with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mahathir Bin Mohamad on exploring new channels of bilateral exchanges in the fields of trade, economy, science, technology, culture and education, as well as new concept of strengthening regional cooperation.

Sirajuddin said the friendly cooperation between Malaysia and China is in the interests of the people of both countries and has won support from all sectors of life in Malaysia.

He said Malaysia welcomes more Chinese tourists and students to travel and study in his country.
