Beijing's Foreign Trade Grows in 2002
China's capital Beijing generated foreign trade worth 14 billion US dollars in 2002, up 4.8 percent from 2001.

generated foreign trade worth 14 billion US dollars in 2002, up 4.8 percent from 2001.
The city's overall export volume reached 5.9 billion US dollarsin 2002, a 21.1-percent increase from 2001, according to a Thursday release from the Beijing Foreign Trade and Economic Commission.
In 2002, the Beijing municipal government further improved its foreign trade environment by boosting the efficiency of customs clearance and setting up special funds for developing the city's foreign trade.
Thanks to the better foreign trade environment there was a risein exports from the city to all continents. Among them, exports toAfrica in 2002 grew 80.5 percent from 2001.
