NWT uses the latest Nortel Networks Succession IP-based Next-Generation Network (NGN) Solution to provide the advanced servicesvia which the analog voice signals can be transformed into digitaltransmission with the same level of services, hence saving the resources of the telecommunications network.

NWT has a strong leadership in the IDD service market. As the first service provider in Hong Kong to sign an agreement with China Telecom to provide MPLS IP-VPN service, the company has acquired 15 percent of the Hong Kong market in this service.

According to NWT's plan, selected residential and business customers will be offered from early 2003 a range of NGN services including IP-based Fixed-line voice service, voice virtual privatenetworks.

With the capability of IP telephony, the company will then extend its service range to value-added services, such as broadband videophone, voice portal, and enhanced telephony features.
