China Construction Bank Sees Sharp Rise in Service Income

China Construction Bank (CCB) said Wednesday that its intermediate businesses developed rapidly in 2002, with service income reaching 1.438 billion yuan (about 173.88 million US dollars), an increase of 88 percent over the previous year.

China Construction Bank (CCB) said Wednesday that its intermediate businesses developed rapidly in 2002, with service income reaching 1.438 billion yuan (about 173.88 million US dollars), an increase of 88 percent over the previous year.

A spokesman for the CCB attributed the growth to the bank's reinforced investment and the improved financial trading environment. The bank has upgraded the scientific and technological level of intermediate business products and services,he said.

He said that so far the CCB has issued 121.3 million bank cards, its securities commissioning system has connected over 6,000 business outlets in 260 cities, and its rapid remittance business sends money to targeted accounts within two hours.
