All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce Vice Chairman Shot Dead

Li Haicang, 47, vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, was shot dead on Wednesday morning in Dongzhen Township, Wenxi County in north China's Shanxi Province.

Li Haicang, 47, vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, was shot dead on Wednesday morning in Dongzhen Township, Wenxi County in north China's Shanxi Province.

Li, also a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, was chairman of the board of directors and general manager of the Haixin Steel and Iron Corporation in Shanxi.

Feng Yinliang, the suspect, committed suicide after the murder. Feng was a self-employer in the county, local police said, adding that Feng's wife was detained for involvement in secretly having firearms.

Provincial leaders have ordered a special team to investigate into the case.
