PRINT DISCUSSION CHINESE SEND TO FRIEND

Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said China will deal seriously with the kidnapping case of Japanese woman Hikasima Kudeko.

She told a press conference in Beijing that the kidnapping seriously violated Chinese law and disturbs national security. She says the Chinese government attaches great importance to the case, which is still under investigation.

Hikasima Kudeko was kidnapped after she illegally entered China from North Korea.

Chinese police rescued her from two kidnappers last Wednesday. After a preliminary investigation, sources say the two hold South Korean passports.
