Cisco Accuses China's Huawei of Copying Software

Cisco Systems, the No.1 maker of gear that directs Internet traffic, says it has filed a lawsuit against Huawei Technologies Co., alleging China's largest telecom equipment maker unlawfully copied its operating software.

Cisco Systems, the No.1 maker of gear that directs Internet traffic, says it has filed a lawsuit against Huawei Technologies Co., alleging China's largest telecom equipment maker unlawfully copied its operating software.

Cisco says it filed the lawsuit late Wednesday, alleging Huawei unlawfully copied its intellectual property, including software source code.

Huawei spokeswoman Wendy Wu says Huawei's policy is to always respect intellectual property rights.

As Cisco has filed a lawsuit, Huawei is working with legal advisers to resolve the matter.
