Chinese Paddlers Wrap 4 Titles at Croatian Open

Chinese paddlers swept four titles at stake Sunday at the Croatian Open, first stage of ITTF Pro Tour, by winning both men's and women's singles and doubles.

Chinese paddlers swept four titles at stake Sunday at the Croatian Open, first stage of ITTF Pro Tour, by winning both men's and women's singles and doubles.

Wang Hao, winner of Egypt Open and Dutch Open last year, won his third Pro Tour title after he trounced Swedish veteran Peter Karlsson 4-1 in the men's single final.

The 20-year-old left no chance to the 32-year-old Karlsson, whoen route beat Chinese third seed Wang Liqin and Chuan Chih Yuan ofChinese Taipei, newly-crowned Pro Tour Final champion.

Chinese top-ranked women player Zhang Yining, who has won each and every tournament she played during the last five months, came up to expectation by winning the women's single for a 4-3 narrow victory over teammate Niu Jianfeng.

Together with world second-placed Wang Nan, Zhang added women'sdouble trophy in an all Chinese-matter final, routing Bai Yang/Jiang Huajun 4-0 while the men's doubles title went to Li Ching/KoLai Chak of Hong Kong, China, for their 4-3 win over South Korean pair Kim Taek Soo/Oh Sang Eun.

The four-day Croatian Open has attracted 30 out of the world's 40 top men and the field in women's singles best players to Zagreb.
