China-Japan Friendship Association, CPAFFC Hold New Year Reception

The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the China-Japan Friendship Association held a New Year reception Tuesday in Beijing.

The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the China-Japan Friendship Association held a New Year reception Tuesday in Beijing.

Addressing the reception, Song Jian, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and president of the China-Japan Friendship Association,said that the year 2002 marked the 30th anniversary of the normalization of the China-Japan diplomatic relations.

The friendly exchange programs between the two countries have consolidated the basis for people-to-people exchanges and enhanced mutual understanding and friendship between the two sides, which is conducive to the positive future development of the China-Japan friendly ties, he said.

He hoped the two sides will expand cooperation in various areas,in the spirit of "taking history as a mirror and looking forward to the future" to develop sound and steadfast bilateral ties.

Fumiyo Anami, Japanese ambassador to China, said he will persist in efforts to further the development of friendly relations between the two sides.
