Iraq Assures New, Full Cooperation with UN Inspectors

Iraq's presidential adviser Amir Rashid said in Baghdad on Tuesday that Iraq assured complete cooperation in every aspects.

Iraq's presidential adviser Amir Rashid said in Baghdad on Tuesday that Iraq assured complete cooperation in every aspects.

Rashid made this remark at a press conference held at Iraq's Ministry of Information when he was answering a question on how Iraq will do for new and more cooperation as it promised and in what areas.

Yet, he stressed that this cooperation should be "co-active" by cooperating together, not by assuming that Iraq comes in its defense. Iraq will cooperate in easing all the issues concerned, such as that on private interviews with scientists and that on VX gas.

Iraq and UN inspectors have to work together to provide facts through discussions with scientists and explanations, he said.

Rashid said Iraq is ready to explain some details on such issuesas VX gas and so far Iraq had explained scientifically by documentsabout that.

Rashid also noted that what UN chief weapon inspector Hans Blix said in his report submitted to the UN Security Council was not true, reiterating Iraq has destroyed all of its missiles.

As for the Anthrax, he said, Iraq was unable to make anthrax powder.

The US government knows that Iraq does not has weapons of mass destruction, he said, but they (the United States and Britain) needed means to distort the reality.

"If they want to make interview with me, I am ready because my name is within the list of the scientists which have been submittedto them," he said.
