China will participate in the World Trade Organization's deliberation on trade policies for 16 of the organization's member economies, including Canada.

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation says it is now collecting expert comments and ideas on the trade policies and bilateral trade problems of those 16 members.

This is in a bid to better participate in the WTO's trade policy deliberations and to help solve trade disputes with other WTO members. It will also help more domestic businesses to compete on the international market.

Last year, China participated in the organization's deliberation on the trade policies of Mexico, India, the European Union, Australia and Japan.
