Brazil Announces Line-up for Friendly Against China

The coach of the Brazilian national soccer team, Carlos Parreira, on Tuesday announced the line-up for the upcoming international friendly against China.

The coach of the Brazilian national soccer team, Carlos Parreira, on Tuesday announced the line-up for the upcoming international friendly against China.

The 19 players are Europe-based and will be the base of the team that will play against China on Feb. 12 in China's southern city of Guangzhou.

From this list, 12 participated in the team that won the World Cup in 2002 for Brazil, under the direction of coach Luiz Scolari.

"Due to the little time we have to train, the trend will be keeping as a base of the team that played in Korea-Japan 2002, which also took part in the friendly against South Korea, Parreira said.

Following is the roster:

Goalkeeper: Dida (Milan)

Defenders: Juan (Bayer-Leverkusen), Edmilson (Lyon), Roque Junior (Milan), Cafu (Roma), Belletti (Villareal-Spain), Roberto Carlos (Real Madrid) and Junior (Parma).

Midfielders: Emerson (Roma), Gilberto Silva (Arsenal), Ze Roberto (Bayern Munich), Juninho Pernambucano (Lyon), Flavio Conceicao (Real Madrid) and Rivaldo (Milan)

Strikers: Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Ronaldinho Gaucho (Paris-SaintGermain), Denilson (Betis), Amoroso (Borusia-Dortmund) and Adriano(Parma).

The three players that will complete the roster will be from the national league and their names will be disclosed on February 4.
