Food Poisoning Victims Still under Treatment
Of the 19 victims of a food poisoning incident Wednesday in Shifang City of southwest China's Sichuan Province, five have died and the other 14 are still under treatment by press time.

Wang Yu, head of the Shifang People's Hospital that is treatingthe victims, said three of the poisoned patients were in critical conditions and the conditions for others have been brought under control.
The incident occurred at the home of Zhong Yongjin, a farmer who was hosting a Spring Festival luncheon on Wednesday. The diners fell victim to a powerful rat poison named "dushuqiang" (tetramine).
Wang said that in view of the nature of the poison, he still could not be optimistic about the prospects of the patients.
