Missing Chinese Vessel Found in South Sea

A vessel belonging to the Chinese Administration of Fishing which had been reported missing on Monday night was found in the South China Sea near the southern island province of Hainan on Tuesday and towed to the East Basuo Port on Tuesday evening, with all four people aboard in good condition.

A vessel belonging to the Chinese Administration of Fishing which had been reported missing on Monday night was found in the South China Sea near the southern island province of Hainan on Tuesday and towed to the East Basuo Port on Tuesday evening, with all four people aboard in good condition.

The provincial maritime search center said communication with the vessel was reestablished on early Tuesday morning after nine hours.

The 7.2 meter-long and 2.4 meter-wide boat No. 46071 set off at10 a.m. on Monday on regular duty to Beibu Bay, some 60 miles northwest of Basuo Port, but lost communication at 5 p.m. due to engine failure.

The center organized rescue action immediately upon receiving the report, requesting other vessels to join in the effort.
