COSCO Container Ship Sinks in South China Sea
Shahekou, a container ship of China Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO), sank around Friday noon (12:30) in the sea off Sanya, a city of China's southernmost Hainan Province.

The cargo and all the 41 people on board were safely transferred to other vessels. The container vessel, with a cargo capacity of 13,230 tons, had sprung a lead.
Sanya Maritime Safety Administration and other departments rushed to the salvage operation after the accident happened. Efforts were taken to avoid pollution.
