China Unveils Roster for East Asian Soccer Tournament

The Chinese Football Association (CFA) Thursday announced the Chinese squad for the East Asian four-team soccer tournament.

The Chinese Football Association (CFA) Thursday announced the Chinese squad for the East Asian four-team soccer tournament.

Five Europe-based players, including Sun Jihai (Manchester City), Li Tie (Everton), Shao Jiayi (TSV 1860 Munich), have been calledup for the May 28-June 4 event in Japan.

But defender Du Wei, who was reported to earn a place in the national team, was dropped from the squad.

The 25-man squad will gather at the Xianghe national soccer training site in Hebei province on Sunday, CFA spokesman Dong Hua said.

Squad:

Goalkeeper: Liu Yunfei (Tianjin), Li Leilei (Bayi), Chen Dong (Sichuan), Yu Weiliang (Shanghai Shenhua);

Defender: Yang Pu (Beijing), Wei Xin (Chongqing), Zheng Zhi, LiWeifeng (both Shenzhen), Ji Mingyi (Dalian), Li Ming, Wu Chengying(both Shanghai Zhongyuan), Xiao Zhanbo (Qingdao);

Midfielder: Shao Jiayi (TSV 1860 Munich), Sun Jihai (ManchesterCity), Li Tie (Everton), Zhao Junzhe (Liaoning), Li Xiaopeng (Shandong), Qi Hong (Shanghai Zhongyuan), Wang Anzhi (Chongqing), Zhengbin (Shenzhen);

Forward: Du Ping (Shenyang), Li Jinyu (Liaoning), Yang Chen (St.Pauli), Xie Hui (Greuther-Fuerth), Li Yi (Shenzhen)
