Former US President Gerald Rudolph Ford was admitted into hospital for a medical checkup Friday after feeling not well, his spokeswoman Penny Circle said.
"He had a dizzy spell playing golf this morning in 96-degree temperatures," Circle said. "They just took him to the hospital tocheck him and everything seems to be OK."
Ford felt dizzy while golfing in Rancho Mirage, California, and was sent to the hospital before noon, she said.
"I just talked to President Ford," she said. "He says he feels great."
Ford, 89, became president after Richard Nixon resigned in August 1974.
