China's first division soccer club Beijing Hyundai is in talks with Chinese international Yang Chen to bring the star back to the Chinese capital.

Yang, who is now in German second division side St. Pauli, moved to then Bundesliga side Frankfurt in 1999 from the Beijing club. He joined St. Pauli two years later after Frankfurt had been relegated.

"We are in close contact with Yang and we hope he can return tohis former club," said Ma Bing, Beijing club's general manager.

"Yang is a star nurtured by Beijing and he has his rooted deep in Beijing. He is always loved by Beijing fans," Ma told Xinhua.

"The door of our club is always open to him," he added.

Yang, who said last year he was willing to revive his career inChina, told reporters earlier that several clubs had contacted him.

"Since my parents are living in Beijing and I used to play for Beijing, Hyundai might be the first choice," he said.
