Chinese FM, Powell Discuss Iraq on Phone

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing and US Secretary of State Colin Powell exchanged views onIraq's post-war reconstruction during a phone conversation Wednesday evening.

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing and US Secretary of State Colin Powell exchanged views onIraq's post-war reconstruction during a phone conversation Wednesday evening.

Li stressed that the Iraq issue should be handled in line with the tenet and principles of the United Nations Charter.

He also thanked the US government and people for their support in the Chinese people's fight against severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).
