Sino-Oman Friendly Ties in the New Era: Ambassador

China and Oman celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of the Diplomatic Relations between the two countries on May 25 in Beijing. Abdullah Al-Hussni, ambassador of Oman to China, expressed his confidence that the friendly relations between Oman and China will carry forward the cause and forge ahead into the future.

China and Oman celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of the Diplomatic Relations between the two countries on May 25 in Beijing.

"Under the leadership of H.M. Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the Chinese leadership since the reform and opening to the outside world, the friendly relations have brought fruitful benefit to the people of both countries who have been friendly to each other generation after generation for over one thousand years", said Abdullah Al-Hussni, ambassador of Oman to China.

The bilateral ties have been good enough to serve as a model among those nations who have friendly diplomatic relations, added the ambassador. "It bases itself upon mutual respect, consultation and cooperation, aiming at the international and regional issues that are mutually concerned to reach common interest."

To look back on the history, the friendly ties began with the well-known "Maritime Silk Road", based on the mutual benefit of both friendly countries and civilized nations. The 25 years of friendly relations between the two inherited their cultural heritage with over two thousand years' history.

In the light of economic relations, mutual interest combines the two as important strategic partners, said the ambassador. In the past three years, the average annual trade volume between the two countries has reached three billion US dollars.

The ambassador also expressed his confidence that the friendly relations between Oman and China will carry forward the cause and forge ahead into the future.
