S. China Province to Launch New Railway Project

Construction of a railway from Guangzhou to Foshan cities in south China's Guangdong province, is scheduled to start in the second half of this year.

Construction of a railway from Guangzhou to Foshan cities in south China's Guangdong province, is scheduled to start in the second half of this year.

The project, part of the inter-city railway network in the Pearl River Delta, is expected to be operational by 2007.

By 2006, the Foshan section of the railway, from Keiqi to Xilang, will open to traffic.
