Four Months Witnessed 135 People's Policemen Dismissed

Since February 1, we've seen 279 cases violating the "Five Bans" be handled and punished in public security offices all over the country. Involved in them are a total of 349 policemen, of whom, 134 are section or bureau chiefs, accounting for 38.4 percent. Up to now, 323 policemen in violation of the bans, have been sanctioned with 135 being dismissed and 238 investigated for their responsibilities in the leadership.

Up to now, 323 policemen in violation of the bans, have been sanctioned with 135 being dismissed and 238 investigated for their responsibilities in the leadership.

As learned, since January 27 the working team from the Ministry of Public Security has made secret investigations to more than 390 public security organs at the county level, 1450 teams and sections at the grass-root levels all over the country, making a timely discovery and supervised handling over a batch of cases that violated the prohibitions. Forceful measures have been taken by public security organs at all levels to make a deep scrutiny to the key units and persons involved in some serious cases. While paying special attention to the management of guns and vehicles, on-the-spot supervisions, intercrossed and special checkups in secret have been actively organized and exercised by departments for order-control, supervision and political work to strengthen their work on these aspects. In the meanwhile, the public securities organs at all levels have adopted a firm and resolute attitude against the behavior in violation of the "Five Bans" with no case left covered up and unsettled once any being found out.

The five bans are:

First, a vehement prohibition on violating the use of guns, whoever breaches the rule shall be subject to disciplinary sanction and be asked to leave the post or dismissed should anything serious be incurred; second, it is strictly prohibited to drink wine with arms by hand. Whoever violates the rule shall be persuaded to leave or fired if any serious case incurred; third, it is prohibited to drive after taking anything alcoholic. Whoever in violation of it shall be dismissed, or be given the sack. Fourth, it is strictly banned to drink wine while at work. Violators shall be given the disciplinary sanction and be persuaded to leave or fired if any thing serious incurred. Fifth, No participation in gambling is permitted and violators shall be asked to leave and even fired should the case be very serious.
