At least four Israelis were killed and four others wounded early on Sunday morning when Palestinian gunmen opened fire on a military outpost near the Erezcheck point in the Gaza Strip, Israel Radio reported.

In a following joint statement, the Palestinian mainstream Fatah movement, Hamas and Islamic Jihad have claimed responsibility for the attack, in an obvious resistance to a cease-fire call made by Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas.

The Palestinian radical groups have refused to hold truce talks with Abbas, who called for an end to the 32-month-long armed intifada, or uprising, at Wednesday's US-Israeli-Palestinian summit in Jordan's Red Sea port city of Aqaba.

Minutes after the Sunday's attack, the first since the trilateral summit vowed to push forward the "Roadmap" peace plan, Israel decided to renew a closure on the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz ordered to renew a general closure on the West Bank, after security establishments received dozens of warning of Palestinian attacks.

However, local reports said that the general closure, which was lifted a week ago as a goodwill gesture for the Aqaba summit, will not affect the Gaza Strip.
