China Wins Gold, Bronze of Men's Air Pistol at ISSF World Cup

China claimed an two-medal finish at the men's Air Pistol of 2003 International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Cup on Sunday, as the two shooters, Tang Zongliang and Wang Yifu won the gold and bronze medals respectively.

China claimed an two-medal finish at the men's Air Pistol of 2003 International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Cup on Sunday, as the two shooters, Tang Zongliang and Wang Yifu won the gold and bronze medals respectively.

Tan and Wang managed an one-two finish after the qualification with 590 points and 585 points. Tan, the 2002 world champion in men's 50m pistol, took the title with 691.2 in his steadily performance of final ten shots.

Tan's compatriot Wang Yifu, the silver medalist of Sydney Olympics, stunned in the final with only 99.2 points to win the bronze. Vladimir Gontcharov from Russia overtook Wang in the finalto claimed the second place with 684.3.

Both Tan and Wang had already qualified for the 2008 Athens Olympics in the former World Cup series.
